Razorback Ugly Holiday Sweater Themed Shirts

Designed by our internal team, this particular game theme shirt displays a familiar representaion you may have seen before or possibly one you own. The famous ugly holiday sweater. On the front and back of the shirt you can see the design is layered in sweater stitching detail, warm hints of candy cane, white font (A White Christmas), Dear Santa font, snowflakes, and our beloved Razorback. Not only do our players receive them but the staff as well. We will dawn these all thru the rest of December.

Our next reveal of a shooting shirt will be on December 29th, 2019 as we take on Indiana in Bloomington, IN.

Video: Behind The Scenes - Holiday Letters

Just moments after a thrilling win over Valpo in North Little Rock, Arkansas a Holiday letter was placed on the chairs of all 15 of our guys. These letters symbolize our Holiday spirit, gratitude, sincerity, and a special bond. Each guy took a moment to read their letter just before Christmas break commenced. Each letter expressed a very personal touch as we wished them a very Merry Christmas and relaxtion over the Holiday break.

Level 5 Shooting Shirts

The latest installment of our themed pre-game shooting shirts was unveiled this past Saturday as our guys took the court in the “Level 5” shooting shirt.

“Level 5” has been a theme for our team since we got together this summer when our athletic trainer Mark O'Neal introduced it to us from his days working with Joe Maddon and the Chicago Cubs. It starts at Level 1 where you’re just happy to be here and ranges all the way to a Level 5, or guys who only care about winning.  This theme has even manifested into awarding a “Level 5” chain after each win to the player who best exemplified a “Level 5” player during that game.  So far, Ethan Henderson and Mason Jones have had the privilege of wearing the chain.

Keep following along as we continue to wear different themed shirts throughout the season.

Shooting shirts

This season, we decided to do something a little different with the gear our Razorback players wear to warm up in. You may have noticed some different shirts that the guys have been wearing to shoot in before certain games.

We created some shirt designs for our players to wear before particular games that either commemorate a certain holiday or emphasize a different theme that we’ve come up with for an individual game. For our game against North Texas which was the day after Veteran’s Day, our players and staff donned red, white and blue Razorbacks shirts to honor those who have served our country.

SS1

We also wore these shirts prior to our first road game at Georgia Tech to remind our team that even though we were playing on the road, that we still “give our all for Arkansas” no matter who’s court we’re playing on. (We will also wear them tonight prior to playing Austin Peay)

SS2

Please continue to stay tuned as we will continue to wear some different themed shirts throughout the rest of the season! Go Hogs!!

Pat Ackerman

Patrick Ackerman, who worked two seasons at Nevada, is in his first year as Arkansas men’s basketball recruiting coordinator for the 2019-20 season.

Ackerman spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant under Musselman for the Wolf Pack. Ackerman was part of a staff that led Nevada to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths, advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2018, and won 29 games in each of his two seasons. Nevada also won a pair of Mountain West Conference championships.

Prior to Nevada, Ackerman was an assistant coach at Bridgewater College for the 2016-17 campaign. At Bridgewater, he assisted with recruiting, scouted opponents, worked with the players on skill development, scheduled community service and monitored academics.  In addition, he scheduled team functions, managed student volunteers and took care of practice equipment.

Ackerman played at Penn State and earned two letters before finishing his career at Detroit Mercy.  He lettered one season at Detroit Mercy and was unable to play his senior season as a result of injuries.

The Rutland, Mass., native received a degree from Detroit Mercy in communications with a minor in leadership in 2016.  He completed his master’s degree in educational leadership at Nevada in May 2019.
