Welcome to the Pack, Darien Williams

Nevada has recently landed a graduate transfer for the 2017-2018 season. Darien Williams, who grew up in San Francisco, committed and signed this past week after his visit. Williams is transferring from St. Johns. Williams adds some much needed size and toughness to the Wolf Pack. Williams is listed at 6-8 235 pounds which makes him the tallest player on the current roster.

"We are so excited about Darien joining our program. As soon as we started recruiting him, it seemed like all of the boxes checked. He is what we like to call an O-K-G, "Our Kinda Guy." He is a high character young man with a great personality."

Williams brings a litany of skills including the ability to stretch the floor with the three ball. He made 37 threes while in junior college. Although Williams did not make a three point shot last year at St. John’s the Pack believes that Williams will be able to bring that part of his game back. Williams was initially committed to Iowa State but switched his commitment to St. Johns. Williams had some big games at St. Johns including a 12 point 9 rebound night against DePaul and a 10 point 4 rebound night against Georgetown. In junior college Williams averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds while shooting 41% from three point range.
