Nevada to Hold Second Annual Arch Madness

The second annual Arch Madness is scheduled to take place Saturday, October 14, 2017 on the ReTRAC plaza in downtown Reno.

This will be the first opportunity Wolf Pack fans have to see the 2017-18 Nevada team that will feature four players (Caleb Martin, Cody Martin, Kendall Stephens, and Hallice Cooke) who sat out last season and fifth year transfer Darien Williams.

This year’s event will feature appearances from both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, the cheerleading team, and the pep band.

The ‘Madness’ is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. on Saturday night. Some of the events scheduled include a 3-point contest, a dunk contest, performances by both the band and cheerleaders, and even skits performed by both basketball teams.

“Arch Madness is a great function for everyone involved,” said head men’s basketball coach Eric Musselman.  “It’s a great opportunity to bring the team, the fans, the students, and the entire Reno community together for some fun.  It’s a great way to continue to build support.”

Last year’s event featured over 5,000 fans in downtown Reno and even more are anticipated for this year. “Last was a hit,” senior forward Jordan Caroline said. “I thought it was really cool participating in the dunk contest and the fans were really into it.”

Sophomore guard Josh Hall added, “I can’t wait for this year’s Arch Madness. Last year as a freshman to see the fan support was amazing.”
