Be a Light Bulb

Be a Light Bulb

Every day before practice we try to show the team a little motivational graphic or video clip that gets them thinking.  Sometimes we go with a short movie clip or a story that is topical to anything we’ve got going on as a team.

This week, I brought in a lightbulb and showed it to the team.  I used the analogy with our team that we need players who are like lightbulbs.  A lightbulb represents energy and light.  A light bulb doesn't have to be large in size to light up a dark room, to make a difference. A light bulb changes the atmosphere and mood of a room, this is the type of basketball players we trying to create, those that influence a room and court when they are present. Think about how vital lightbulbs are to just the simplest of day-to-day tasks.

We want guys, who every time they step on the court, they light the gym up.  We want guys who feel as though they are essential to our success as a team.  We want our Nevada roster to be full of lightbulbs-type players.
