Nevada Throwback Night

Nevada Throwback Night

The Nevada basketball team hosted Dominican for their last of three exhibition games this year. The game was played at the University's Virginia Street Gym, which was formerly the main athletic competition courts until it became solely for Nevada's volleyball program in 1994. The game had a Throwback theme that included, retro-inspired uniforms for the team and the staff participated as well in the retro apparel.

"Throwback Night is an idea we have had since my first year at Nevada. It was awesome to add a different type of environment to our exhibition season, said Coach Musselman, It was also a great opportunity for our long-time fans to see a game back in Virginia Street Gym."

Nevada used hot shooting from behind the arc to silence Dominican as they won 101-55 in Virgina Street Gym. The Wolf Pack will start their regular season Friday, Nov. 10th when they host Idaho at the Lawlor Events Center for a 7pm tipoff.

Michael "Fly" Gray was in attendance for the game. Fly played at Nevada for two seasons. During his two seasons at Nevada, Gray averaged more than 20 points per game, was an All-WCC honorable mention in 1978 and a first-team selection in 1979. Gray was also inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
