Kendall Stephens to Play in Professional Basketball Combine

RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada senior has accepted an invitation to attend the Professional Basketball Combine May 23-24 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.  Stephens will be one of 24 players who will display their skills at the secondary draft combine.

Each player who attends has the opportunity to participate in private workouts and scrimmages, do combine testing, and interview for NBA general managers, NBA scouts, G-League personnel and overseas opportunities. The event is designed to give players an opportunity to showcase their talents as a secondary combine to the NBA Draft Combine.

*Stephens set Nevada and MW records making 126 made 3-pointers in his senior year, breaking Jimmer Fredette’s 2010-11 record (124), which also ranked fifth in NCAA. In MW play his 73 made 3-pointers also established a new record.  His five made 3-pointers in the Pack's NCAA Tournament win over Texas is a Nevada record and his eight made in the NCAA Tournament tied the school record. The 6’7 sharp shooter was fourth on the team averaging 13.1 points per game.  From behind the arc he shot 43.2 percent to rank 21st nationally.  His 3.41 made 3-pointers per game was ninth among NCAAI players.  Three times he made seven 3-pointers in a game.  In the home win over SJSU he scored a career-high 30 points which tied for the top scoring game on the team this season.

*Stephens earned third-team All-Mountain West honors from the coaches and media.
