Coaching Ideas/Projects

Every off-season, our staff meets on a variety of topics, from different offensive and defenisve projects, to operational projects to become more organized, or even summer workout plans for our players. One of our projects that we have done since our time in the NBA, is we assign each assistant coach 3-4 teams in our league, and we try to name one thing they do 'exceptionally well'. After we have identified what each team does well (it could be the best offensive-rebounding team, best weakside-help, etc.), we try to implement them into our own program.

Here are a few things we tried to implement:

Detroit Pistons - Larry Brown - Excellent A.T.O with lobs, backdoors, and slips

Utah Jazz - Jerry Sloan - Wings run hard in transition and cross out

Washington Wizards - Eddie Jordan - Princeton Offense

Many of the things we would find would be dictated by personnel, so we tried to focus on things that could be influenced by coaching or effort.
