Improvements as a Coach

Improvements as a Coach

In the summer of 2004 I had the opportunity to have dinner with Michael Lombardi of the Oakland Raiders. Michael broke down strengths and weaknesses of NFL coaches at the time.

New England Patriots – Bill Belichick – Great organizer and always is looking for mismatches. Always has something new for you in the 3rdquarter.

Dallas Cowboys – Bill Parcells – Bonds with players during stretching

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004) – Jon Gruden – Loves to work the offensive side of the ball. Has a thick playbook and is always adding new plays.

Oakland Raiders (2004) – Norv Turner – Good game day coach with a good feel. Great play caller who makes adjustments.

Coaches throughout all sports are great references to learn from. Each program is unique in its own way and each coach leads differently. At Nevada, we take ideas on ways to improve and implement them in a specific way that benefits our players and program directly.
