Pre Season Goals

Pre Season Goals

As we approach week 5 of our summer practices, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on off season goals and how we approached them with teams in the past. Program’s should have both team goals and personal goals for their players.

With the new NCAA rule being passed, Division I programs get 8 out of the 10 weeks of the summer to practice to have practices, totaling 4 hours per week. This is great because it gives us more time together to prepare for the season. We have a veteran team with our returners for next season and 5 new transfers who have a wealth of experience. We came up with a slogan for our team goal.  Everyone knows the meaning and what we have to do in order to achieve those goals.

In order for your team and staff to be in sync, you must follow the 4 fundamental rules of successful teamwork…

  • Develop a sense of purpose. A clear, strong and common goal.
  • Communicate your goal.
  • Utilize the individual and diverse talents of everyone in our organization.
  • Empower other to make their own decisions.
