In 2015, Nike combined its positional skills camps and launched a new format with premium training, a combine experience, off-court workouts, drills, film sessions, and 5-on-5 competition. A collection of high-profile college and high school talent will get to compete against each other in front of NBA scouts, while also being taught by some of the NBA’s elite players both past and present. This is a huge opportunity for Cody and for our program.

"It's an honor to be selected for the Nike Basketball Skills Academy and even more of an honor to be able represent the University of Nevada on this stage," said Martin. "This is an amazing opportunity and I'm blessed to be attending!"

Last season, Martin earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, All-Mountain West Second Team and All-Defensive Team honors after starting 34 of 36 games, ranking second on the team in rebounds (6.3rpg) and third on the team in points (14.0ppg).  He scored a season-high 30 points against Utah State and also finished with 4.7 assists per game and shot 52% from the field.

Cody's goals of reaching the NBA could get a boost with a big performance next week in LA.  From last year's Nike Skills Academy, there were 7 college players selected in the 2018 NBA Draft, including frist round draft picks Jaren Jackson Jr (Michigan State), Troy Brown (Oregon), Grayson Allen (Duke) and Mikal Bridges (Villanova).

Nevada head coach Eric Musselman stated, "We are extremely proud of Cody and all of his accomplishments thus far. Cody has been a major part of our programs' success and we know that he will represent the Wolf Pack well at the Nike Skills Academy."

Senior guard Caleb Martin, the reigning Mountain West Player of the Year, was also invited to the Nike Basketball Skills Academy but had to decline due to just returning from injury. We wish Cody Martin all of the best in the upcoming Nike Skills Academy. He leaves Wednesday the 8th and we know Cody will represent Nevada well!

The Wolf Pack conclude their eight week summer player development sessions this Thursday and will have a break before returning to campus for the fall semester. Season tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at
