Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award

Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame has come out with their initial Bob Cousy Award candidates. The award is given to the nation's top point guard and Wolf Pack senior Cody Martin is listed amongst the 20 candidates.

Cody Martin stepped in as full-time point guard last season after the season ending injury of Lindsey Drew. Martin finished the 2017-18 season being named Mountain West Defensive Player of the year and averaged 14 points and 6.3 rebounds a game.

"We are proud of Cody for being named to the Bob Cousy Award Watch List," Wolf Pack head coach Eric Musselman stated. "This is a true testament of the hardwork Cody has put in over the years. He has been a major part of our program's success and we know he will continue to lead us in the right direction this season as our point guard."

Previous winners of the Bob Cousy Award include Jalen Brunson, Villanova (2018), Frank Mason III, Kansas (2017), Tyler Ulis, Kentucky (2016), Delon Wright, Utah (2015), Shabazz Napier, Connecticut (2014), Trey Burke, Michigan (2013), Kendall Marshall, North Carolina (2012), Kemba Walker, Connecticut (2011), Greivis Vasquez, Maryland (2010), Ty Lawson, North Carolina (2009), DJ Augustin, Texas (2008), Acie Law, Texas A & M (2007), Dee Brown, Illinois (2006), Raymond Felton, North Carolina (2005) and Jameer Nelson, St. Joseph’s (2004).
