Shooting Details with Coach Muss

Coach Muss stopped practice yesterday to make sure Pack players understand the importance of the details when shooting. More specifically, he talked about shot preparation. Making sure that you are shot ready with your knees bent and hands ready is so important. Upon the arrival of the pass, you need to be ready to shoot the ball.

Consistency is also important when shooting. Your form needs to be the exact same with every single rep. We want game like shots. Pack players should be locked in and mentally putting themselves in a game.

The challenge for many players in translating your spot shooting into game situations when you are on the move or coming off a screen. In order to do this, your repititions must be game speed. Muss referenced some of the best shooters in NBA history such as Reggie Miller, Jason Terry and Kyle Korver. Pack players can learn from their work ethic and studying film on them.

It is very important to hold your players accountable to these details while shooting in practice.
