Las Vegas Continental Tire Invitational Recap

Las Vegas Continental Tire Invitational Recap

Nevada participated in one of two Continental Tire Invitational brackets over the holiday which included UMass, Southern Illinois and Tulsa. Nevada advanced to the championship after beating Tulsa on Thanksgiving day. The Pack finished with 3 players posting 20 or more points for the first time this season as Jordan Caroline had 25, Caleb Martin with 21 and Jazz Johnson finished the game with 20.

The face off against UMass in the Championship game was our most efficient offensive game on the season. The Pack scored 110 points while holding UMass to 87. Caleb Martin led the way for the Pack with 29 points and Tre Thurman broke out with a monster performance of 22 points and 9 rebounds.

The best part of the tournament from a coaching perspective was having two players, Jordan Brown and David Cunningham, diving on the floor for a loose ball with less than a minute on the clock and our team up double digits. This defines the culture that we have established here at Nevada and how every single player on our roster is going to play to our standard no matter the time or score.

The Wolf Pack head to Chicago for a Sweet 16 rematch with Loyola Chicago on Tuesday November 27th. The game will be aired on ESPN NEWS at 5:00pm PST.
