Wolf Pack Film Room: Defense to Offense

Wolf Pack Film Room: Defense to Offense

The Wolf Pack used their defense to will our team to victory Wednesday night against Utah State. The Aggies came into the game averaging 81.4 points per game and the Pack held them to a season low 49. This was the best defensive effort of the year for the Pack and it came against one of the best scoring teams in the country.

It was a group effort from all 9 players who stepped on the floor. Pack players studied our game plan and did a great job in executing it.

When we got defensive stops, we were able to get out in transition. From the opening tip, our defense led to offense.

On the night, the Pack had a season high 15 steals and forced Utah State to 20 turnovers. This resulted in us scoring 23 points off of turnovers and 19 fast break points.

It is evident that this is a different defensive team from last year. Our team has bought into playing on the defensive side of the ball as we currently rank 25th in the country, while giving up only 92.5 points per 100 possessions.

In turn, our defense has led to our best offense. Take a look at the clips below to see how our ability to get defensive stops resulted in us scoring the ball on the other end of the floor.
