Nevada To Retire Nick Fazekas' Jersey

Nevada To Retire Nick Fazekas' Jersey

On Wednesday night on top of the stripe out, Nevada will be honoring Wolf Pack great, Nick Fazekas, by retiring his #22 jersey.

Fazekas played for Nevada from 2003-2007 and is one of the greatest to ever put on a Nevada jersey. His accolades include taking a team to the Sweet 16 his freshman year, 3 consecutive WAC Player of the Year awards, breaking the all-time scoring record and ultimately being drafted the 34th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft.

In his final season with the Wolf Pack he averaged 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while shooting 57% from the field. He has since embarked on a 11 year professional basketball playing career which started with the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA, had stints in Europe and the NBA G-League and is currently playing for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in Japan.

We are honored to have Nick return to Reno so we can retire his jersey in front of the best fans in the country. Since he stepped foot in Reno, he has had an everlasting impact on the university and Reno community. He will always be remembered for what he brought to Nevada during his 4 years here and now it will always be on showcase in Lawlor as we retire his infamous #22 jersey.

We look forward to seeing you all Wednesday night against UNLV for the jersey retirement and stripe out against UNLV. Go Pack!
