4 Hours With Larry Eustachy

4 Hours With Larry Eustachy

Last week the Pack had the priviledge of legendary coach Larry Eustachy being in town for a day.

Eustachy has coached all over the country with stops at Iowa State, Idaho, Utah State, Southern Mississippi and most recently Colorado State. He was the 2000 AP Coach of the year after leading Iowa State to an Elite Eight appearance and winning a school record 32 games that season.

Coach Eustachy's message was clear to our players, they did not ave much time left and they need to take advantage of our final four games left in the regular season and one gauranteed game in our conference tournament. He calculated that the time on the court playing during those games was roughly 4 hours. He told our players they have only 4 hours gauranteed of basketball this season. He asked our players if they have ever gone to the park when they were a kid and played basketball for 4 hours in one day. Everyone raised their hands. When he put it into perspective like that, it was eye opening to our players.

Our players took advantage of their 4 hours left of this season by handling business against in-state rival UNLV last night and will start preparation Utah State today.

We want to thank Coach Eustachy for spending a day in Reno and motivating our players for the rest of the season.
