Hall of Fame experience by Danyelle Musselman

Hall of Fame experience by Danyelle Musselman

This weekend Eric and I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to attend the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. As most of you know, Arkansas great Sidney Moncrief was among the 2019 class. Joining our travel party were Arkansas administrators Jon Fagg & Kevin Trainor. We were also joined by Marvin Delph and Ron Brewer Sr, two legendary players that combined with Sidney to form “the triplets” back in the day. We landed in Springfield, Massachusetts around 3pm, and after a quick bite to eat and change of clothes, headed to a V.I.P. reception with some of basketballs biggest legends.

I saw some familiar faces from my broadcasting days, but Eric felt like he was at a reunion. He had the chance to connect with Al Attles, a 2019 inductee, and former player/coach/Gm Chris Mullen, both of whom Eric worked with when he was with the Golden State Warriors. He also caught up with Rick Barry, Nancy Lieberman, and a host of others. I met Sidney and his wife Takisha for the first time and felt honored to be able to be there in support of this wonderful event.

Sidney was one of the last to speak and stressed how basketball united

Teresa Weatherspoon gave one of my favorite speeches. She was incredibly inspirational reflecting on her Olympic success, international career and time in the WNBA. #girlpower

After the ceremony Coach Muss and I ran into Jim Rasco who wrote the bio for Sidney in the enshrinement magazine. In that article he sidney talks about how Erics dad, Bill Musselman, convinced him to take an official visit to the University of Minnesota.

We were back in Fayetteville approximately 24 hours after we left, a quick trip that created lasting memories. I am SO proud to have represented the Razorbacks! Go Hogs!
