The Night The Lights Came On In Barnhill

The Night The Lights Came On In Barnhill

Throwback Threads and Barnhill Legends

The stage was set and Barnhill Arena was ready to deliver another memorable afternoon. Not only was a full house entertained by getting their first look at the 2019-20 Razorbacks, fans witnessed the return of two Arkansas Basketball legends, Eddie Sutton and Nolan Richardson, for a final trailblazing moment in Barnhill Arena.

Saturday’s throwback game represented so much, not only for our fans, alums and former players, but for this new era of Razorback Basketball. With the eruption of The Calling of The Hogs just before tip you could feel the arena ready to explode. The thrill and exhilaration of the band just over the top of the tunnel made the place thunder. Team Eddie and Team Nolan dawned their red and white fitted throwbacks and then seconds later, big man Connor Vanover, stepped into his shot from deep and buried the first shot of the game. These type of moments are what being a Razorback is all about. The history. The tradition. The people. The atmosphere.

Our fans, the community, and the support that surrounds this program are instrumental to all that we do both on and off the floor. To our joy, fans stayed until the end and lined up for over an hour to collect autographs at football’s indoor facility. We feel the excitement building for our special November 5th contest at Bud Walton Arena for the unveiling of Nolan Richardson Court. We will surely reminisce about this year’s Red-White game for years to come.
